Once upon a time, a young couple named Romeo and Juliet met and fell in love. You probably know how their story ended, but that’s not how it ended at all in this reimagining by Christina Dodd. In this book, they have seven children and their oldest, Rosie Montague, is happy to never fall in love and stay a spinster at the ‘old’ age of twenty. Every time her parents present her with a betrothal, she plays matchmaker for her groom-to-be, finding them someone else more suitable to wed.
But their latest match, Duke Stephano, isn’t so easy to palm off, with three wives who met unfortunate ends, Rosie can’t conscientiously consign another woman to that fate. But as fate would have it, neither does she, because she stumbles across his body with a dagger in his chest.
