Richland History Group and Northern Tier Library invite you to a presentation on the Civil War by artist and historian, Michael G. Kraus, Curator of Collections at Pittsburgh's Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum. His vast accomplishments as an author, advisor, and collector have cumulated in recognition of Kraus as an accredited authority on the Civil War. He holds the rank of Captain, 116th PA Volunteer Infantry, Irish Brigade and is a military consultant to numerous Civil War feature films and documentaries.
Mr. Kraus is also an award-winning artist—one of the few sculptors of life-sized historical statuary in stone and cast bronze. His acclaimed work includes museum busts, plaques, and more than six large public monuments. He developed and applied the hand-forged patina on the bronze plaque honoring the memory of Flight 93, displayed in the Rotunda of the US Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Doors will open at 10:00 AM, with the presentation starting at 10:15 AM, and light refreshments will be provided.
Registration is required.
