Program Description

Event Details

At great personal risk, northern Allegheny County farmers played a large role in the Underground Railroad, which secretly transported enslaved people to freedom in safe northern states and Canada.

Acting Richland History Group President Paul R. White will give a one-hour presentation to detail the specifics of four local mid-19th century "stations" and their "station masters." Three of these known "stations" still stand in our community today as a testimony to their historic service some 170 years ago.

Registration is required.
